Doctor Jumped into the Lagoon

By Osula Daniel
If I was in Lagos, you'd know. If I was in China, you'd still know. Now that I'm in Delta, you know. This is because I write in relation to my immediate environment. Most of my articles are an inspiration of a day-to-day experience. I do this because I wouldn't want to write on something I am not thoroughly clear on. Should I write on anything outside my vicinity, I'd be the last, so I can garner as much as possible on the actual occurrence.

As the story goes, a 35 year old medical Doctor, resident in Lagos, ordered his driver to park by the road side, alighted from the vehicle, and jumped into the Lagoon. The last time I read a story relating to a Lagoon, I was in primary four
or so. My Macmillan reader told a story of one Agbo.
I have always thought about death and the million ways people exit life. To me, two of the most dreadful ways to die is either by drowning or burning to ashes.
I'm hydrophobic. This is why I cannot swim or even bother to learn how to. The times I tried and had water stuck in my nose, I had an idea of how dreadful drowning would be. I'd rather learn to walk on needles. This makes it really difficult for me to imagine the slow, gradual and painful process of death, a medical Doctor chose to subject himself to, when he could have access to drugs or other stuffs that are less painful and a most gratifying way to death.

This means, whatever he was going through; to him, was more, compared to the process of drowning, which is why he opted for the lesser pain. Nothing has been said to point in the direction of an idea as to what it could have possibly been that drove the man to take his life
in such a gruesome way.
It brings me back to my abode. I've seen a lot of people handle depression with kids gloves. I've read a lot of depressed people share their opinions on the matter. Some of these people do not even know how depressed they are.
From my conversation with many, I discovered a lot people are depressed for the most mundane reasons you can think of. People are depressed because their whatsapp isn't updating. They are
depressed because their favourite club isn't topping the league. They are depressed because NEPA took the light, because they can't afford a bag or a human hair. And you begin to think
depression is not to be taken seriously because it has been abused. But don't play yourself.
While you think these aren't substantial reasons enough to be depressed, these people think about suicide more often. At some point in this school, all I wanted was to dropout. At other points, I didn't just want to quit school, I wanted to quit life too. These things kinda toughens a person. With each phase you survive, you confront the next phase with ease until you become stoic and impenetrable.
Now, I've had guys and girls come out from their closet and confront their issues. I'm tempted to mention names of guys who I know have grown strong over the years. These very people inspire me everyday, and I'm so glad to be part of the processes. Very few people still do 'secret'.
Most people are talking about what
affects them and gathers opinions on how to handle. A lot of these silent sufferers are females. They've created an image for
themselves that telling their story could dent. Or they are trying so hard to shy away from stigmatisation and discrimination. So they think
'if I tell my story, naso dem go see me finish ni?',
and then choose to handle it alone, thus,
shying away from the obvious reality. Ego would first kill you before you actually reach your threshold where you can't take it anymore and explode. You don't know how many of these slay queens cry to sleep every night. From their daily activities, if you pay close attention, you'd
figure out. Please! Help yourselves. Help people around you help you! Talking helps.
When I say talking helps, I forget to add 'it
depends on who you're talking to'. Is the person really listening to help or to know just to talk about it later? If you're in the position to listen, please keep your judgmental self in the closet before you double somebody's problem(s).
And you going through a phase, don't dumb it down on people claiming they didn't love you enough or didn't show it, when you made know efforts to reach out. People don't read minds.
Even those who accurately predicted you
needed help, you vehemently refused and argued with them because you felt insulted; your ego deflated. So, when it sometimes becomes unbearable, know your choices brought you there. Be responsible for your actions or inactions.

Bone Broth Benefits for Strong Bones, Joint Pain and Better Health

Bone broth or stock is an old traditional way our ancestors made to use of every part of an animal. Bones and marrow, skin and feet, tendons and ligaments that you can’t eat directly can be boiled and then simmered over a period of days. This simmering causes the bones and ligaments to release healing compounds like collagen, proline, glycine and glutamine that have the power to transform your health. Incorporating bone broth into your daily diet can benefit not only your joints but your general health and well being as well. A fresh, hot cup of bone broth is a great start to a cold day, can also act as a a refreshing, nutritious snack during the afternoon. It can be used a side dish, as a soup and in gravies and lift the attractions for your guest and colleagues in yopur servings.

Bone Broth Benefits for Strong Bones, Joint Pain and Better Health

Protects Joints

As we grow older, our joints naturally experience wear and tear, and we become less flexible. It may be due to age-related degradation of joint cartilage. Bone broth is one of world’s best sources of natural collagen, the protein found in vertebrae animals in their bones, skin, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and bone marrow. As bone broth simmers, collagen from the animal parts leaches into the broth and becomes readily absorbable to help restore cartilage. The chondroitin sulfate in bone broth has been shown to help prevent osteoarthritis.

Makes Bones Stronger

One of the most valuable components of bone broth is gelatin, which acts like a soft cushion between bones that helps them “glide” without friction. Gelatin also provides us with building blocks that are needed to form and maintain strong bones, helping take pressure off of aging joints and supporting heathy bone mineral density. The phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium in the bones seeps out into the broth leaving you with the essential building blocks for healthy bones.

Boosts Immunity

Amino acids in bone broth, like arginine, glutamine, and cysteine, have been shown to boost immunity in humans and animals.

Prevents Common Cold And Bronchitis

Researches suggest to drink chicken soup during cold and flu season. Bone broth gives aid in alleviating symptoms of the common cold, by clearing mucus, opening respiratory pathways, and providing easily digested nutrition. Chicken soup naturally contains the amino acid cysteine, which chemically resembles the bronchitis drug acetylcysteine.

Gives Disease Resistance

When your metabolism is operating at maximum efficiency, your immune system will also be strengthened. A strong immune system resists infection and disease, and can also contribute towards better vitality and wellbeing through an increase in energy levels, improved mood, and many more.

Improves Hydration

Bone broth, especially when it’s made from vegetables, adds electrolytes (minerals) and carbohydrates (from vegetables) to the diet. Studies have shown that drinking broth can rehydrate better than water alone due to the electrolytes.

Heal Your Gut

The gelatin in the bone broth (found in the knuckles, feet, and other joints) helps seal up holes in intestines. This helps cure chronic diarrhea, constipation, and even some food intolerance.

Barca close to signing Coutinho and Dembele - Segura

Barcelona general manager Pep Seguar claimed the LaLiga giants are close to signing Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele.
Liverpool star Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund attacker Dembele have been tipped to join Barca since Neymar left Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record transfer.
Premier League side Liverpool have maintained Coutinho is not for sale, while Dortmund suspended Dembele after the Frenchman missed training without permission.
Now, the pair are poised to make the switch to Barca following Barca's 2-0 loss to Real Madrid on Wednesday.
"Coutinho and Dembele are both close," Segura told TV3. "We are hopeful that they will end up wearing the Barca shirt."
He added: "Until deals are closed I can't say anything. We know we have to help the team and reinforce it and that's what we are doing."
Barca head coach Ernesto Valverde lamented Neymar's absence after the match at the Santiago Bernabeu as his team crashed to a 5-1 aggregate defeat.
Asked about the possibility of Coutinho arriving before Sunday's LaLiga opener against Real Betis, Valverde said: "I do not know."
Pressed on whether he is waiting on signings, Valverde responded: "Generally the results are a consequence of the game, being aggressive offensive and defensively, we have to focus on that, we have generated chances and we have not been able to score, we have not been able to score at specific moments.
"Looking for that balance that allows us to play, there have been changes and there are probably more changes, coaches do not have the time, we need results so that everything works."

Pogba determined to win Premier League with Man Utd

Paul Pogba says he returned to Manchester United to win the Premier League and is now determined to make that a reality.

The France international, who left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2012, was brought back to United for a then world-record fee by Jose Mourinho last year.

United and Pogba won three trophies - the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League - last season, but they struggled to a sixth-placed finish.

However, after more spending in this off-season, Pogba is looking to lead United in a title charge against champions Chelsea and rivals Manchester City.

"I came here to win the Premier League and to challenge myself as well," he said. "Winning the Premier League is what matters.

"My dream was to play for this club and, when I finished [in 2012], I always felt like I had missed something at Manchester United because I wasn't a first XI player.

"Now I'm back and happy to be back. I grew up a lot in Italy and I have come back as a man."

United are top of the table after the first round of fixtures, with Pogba scoring in a 4-0 success against West Ham United.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid forward suspended for five games

Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended for five games after he was sent off in Real Madrid's 3-1 win against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup first leg on Suncost.

He was given a one-match ban for being shown two yellow cards and a further four for pushing the referee in the back after he had been sent off.

The bookings at the Nou Camp were for taking off his shirt to celebrate his goal to make it 2-1 and for a dive.

He will miss Wednesday's second leg.

Ronaldo, 32, will have 10 days to appeal.

The Portugal international will be able to play in the Champions League but will not return to domestic action until 20 September against Real Betis.

Madrid had already signalled their intent to appeal against Ronaldo's second yellow card shown for diving eight minutes from time when he went down inside the area under pressure from Samuel Umtiti.

"Ronaldo's sending-off annoys me because even if it is not a penalty, the card is harsh," said Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane after the game. "We will see if we can do something so that he is available on Wednesday."

Ronaldo was only on the field for 24 minutes as he was introduced as a second-half substitute and fired into the top corner 10 minutes from time to give Madrid a 2-1 lead.
It was Ronaldo's 10th red card of his career and the two yellow cards on Sunday came within two minutes.

"Once shown the red card, said player (Ronaldo) pushed me lightly as a sign of his disapproval," the referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea wrote in his post-match report.

The games Ronaldo will miss...

Barcelona (h) - Spanish Super Cup - 16 August

Deportivo La Coruna (a) - La Liga - 20 August

Valencia (h) - La Liga - 27 August

Levante (h) - La Liga - 9 September

Real Sociedad (a) La Liga - 17 September

Analysis

Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher
The message they've got to send out is it's unacceptable to push a match official.

If I'm walking down the high street in my town I can't go pushing a policeman.

There is nothing to excuse what Ronaldo did.

We cannot accept this at any cost

MY THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK **PROGRESS**

Last week, we learnt that we should go ahead and start whatever project we have in mind, however starting is not the only thing but progressing or advancing what you have started.

I have seen many people that started a project but they never manage to grow it, they tend to remain on the same spot, gathering experience that is not translating into progress. Why?

Most often people never dream of moving forward, they always want to remain in their 'comfort zone' while there are still more grounds to cultivate.

Some people are just contented with their achievement and fail to strategize on how they can achieve better things not knowing that achieving a goal is not all there is to achieve. You also need to know that there is no limit to what you can achieve if you really desire progress.

I challenge you with this -It is a demonstration of intelligence to actualize a project but it is an expression of stupidity not to grow and develop it, therefore, grow that business, write another book, open a new branch, win more customers, get that certificate, add more to what you are doing(if need be).

*Don't stay on a spot, be progressive!*

Klopp has no say in Coutinho saga amid Barca speculation

Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have the final say on Philippe Coutinho's future at Anfield as Barcelona push to sign the Brazilian.
Coutinho is believed to have handed in a transfer request last Friday, amid growing links with LaLiga giants Barca, who are looking to fill the void left by Neymar.
The Brazil international's request came just hours after Liverpool insisted they will not entertain any offers for the 25-year-old.
Coutinho, who missed Saturday's season-opening 3-3 draw at Watford in the Premier League, will sit out the first leg of Liverpool's Champions League play-off against Hoffenheim on Tuesday due to a back problem.
As doubts remain over Coutinho, Liverpool manager Klopp admitted his hands are tied.
"If, for example, there is an offer for a player and I say 'No' and the owners say, 'Yes, let's ask for a number on how much they want to pay'. And I say, 'I don't want to hear it'. But they say 'We want to hear it, £50million … £50 million is cool,'" Klopp said. "So then they sell the player – that is how a club works.
"That is how it was with Hans-Joachim Watzke [chief executive] at Dortmund. Do you think I said, 'Sell Nuri Sahin to Real Madrid as quick as possible?' It was not my decision. The player had a contract. They agreed. I am 100 per cent, really, 100 per cent [when I say] I don't ask for things I can't get and I respect the rules in the game.
"If they [FSG] say they [Barcelona] will bid whatever and we don't want it then it is a clear message. We don't want money, we want to invest in the team and have the best team because we have aims and dreams. That is the message.
"It's not important what I think. I have the player from August 31 latest, again, or when the back issue is sorted," Klopp added. "There is nothing else I can say about it. I think I said 'I have bosses', right? I have many bosses, including my wife. I can live with this, it's no problem. They [the owners] are 100 per cent clear on it. There is nothing else to say."

EFL Cup draw: Southampton v Wolves as Blackburn face Burnley

Southampton, runners-up in last season's EFL Cup, have been drawn at home to Championship side Wolves in the second round of the 2017-18 competition, while Blackburn Rovers host local rivals Burnley.

Saints lost out in a thrilling 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Wembley in February last season despite Marco Gabbiadini's double.

Lancashire rivals Blackburn and Burnley will renew acquaintances at Ewood Park in a fixture playfully dubbed locally as 'T'el Clasico', with their last meeting having coming in the Championship during the 2015-16 season, with the Clarets running out 1-0 victors on that occasion.

Elsewhere, Leicester City are away to Sheffield United, Newcastle United host Nottingham Forest, while West Ham were drawn at home to Cheltenham Town, although they will play the match away because the London Stadium will not be ready after the IAAF World Championships.

Crystal Palace face a home tie with Ipswich Town and West Brom are on the road against Accrington Stanley. Stoke City are set to play Rochdale at bet365 Stadium, Swansea City will travel to play MK Dons, while Watford host Bristol City.

The teams that progress from the 25 ties and move into the third round will be joined by England's seven representatives playing in Europe this season.
Ties will be played on the week commencing August 21

THE MARRIAGE BED

Some of us don't even know how to enjoy this sex that God has freely given to us. All this one that you people will just lock yourselves up inside the heat, close the windows, bolt the door, buy packets of condoms, drink sachets of tramadol, and still be doing it with a low voice so that your neighbors will not hear you people, untop of that you'll still be praying that pregnancy should not arise a second time , no rest of mind at all, please is that one sex? I will not even talk about how the devil will just be fanning away your  spiritual life with his facecap, Mtcheeewww, you're just cheating yourself and you don't know it.

All those ones you're doing in your relationship and think is enjoyment is just like stealing meat from your mother's pot, you cannot enjoy it in peace, any little footstep you're afraid of getting caught, because you know you're not doing it the right way.

My dear why not just chill and wait to enjoy this thing with peace of mind when you're married? I mean, the kind of sex where you can be doing it and be drinking coke. The kind of sex where you can freely leave the windows open and even break down your door. 

Let me share this secret with you,  maybe you didn't know this yet;

God has given us specific instructions and guidance on every area of our life, i mean EVERY AREA of our Christian life, how to worship,  how to pray,  how to seek His face, what to do about our challenges, how to treat people who love and despise us, how to do our marriage, how to love our neighbors, mehn, i mean EVERYTHING, but there's one area that God have said nothing about, no guideline, no law, no principle, nothing,.....and that area is "THE MARRIAGE BED".

God knows how important that bed is to our marriage, He know much we enjoy that area, that is why He didn't put any ten commandments or heavenly constitutions around it, the Lord just removed His hand from that side and be like "you know what? do it as you please, just be enjoying yourselves, as long as both husband and wife agree". 

Guys, the full excitement in sex is on the marriage bed, where there are no fears, no condemnation, or limitations.

The kind of sex you can have on a sunday morning before rushing off to Sunday school.
The kind of sex that you can boldly do wearing your Scapular and your Holy Rosary.

The kind of sex where you can use the big family Bible on the bed to support her head. 

The kind of sex where you don't need condoms or performance enhancement drugs, or fear unwanted pregnancy.

The kind of sex where you don't care if the neighbors are hearing your love hymns.

The kind of sex you can have with Hillsong and Pastor Joel Osteen's tapes playing in the background.

The kind of sex where the Heavens smile every time you cleave, because what they see is a Spirit exchange.

Wait for it guys, wait for the kind of marriage where the whole house is your marriage bed, from the kitchen table to the couch, to the staircase, to the pool, to the garden, to the bedroom, and even to kissing in  church.

Wait for it, it might look tough now, but the wait is always worth it. SHARE WITH someone and say "WAIT FOR IT!"

Isco confirms new contract is ´very close´ after stellar Real Madrid display

Real Madrid midfielder Isco expects to sign a new contract with the club soon following his man-of-the-match display in their UEFA Super Cup win over Manchester United.

The Spain international scored a fine second goal after Casemiro had put Madrid ahead in the first half, with Romelu Lukaku's strike not enough to prevent the European champions from claiming a 2-1 win in Skopje on Tuesday.

Isco's future had come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with the 25-year-old yet to extend a deal that expires next year despite insisting after last term's LaLiga title triumph that he would not be leaving.

However, speaking after the victory, Isco made it clear that he intends to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"We're very close and it will be done soon," he said of the contract talks, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Isco conceded that Madrid were put under some pressure by United in the closing stages but was in no doubt that they fully deserved to win a third Super Cup since 2014.

"The game overall was good, we were superior. We suffered a bit at the end against a powerful team," he said.

"They have great players and they started very well. They're a powerful side with big aspirations. But in general, we played a very complete game and we're deserving winners.

"We think of the present and the future. We don't usually fail on the big occasion. It's also because of the dressing room: getting along is much easier. We're building a winning group and we're showing that."

Neymar transfer: Can PSG get away with paying £198m fee?

Paris-St Germain have completed their deal to sign Neymar from Barcelona for 222m euros (£198m).
Some people, including Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, questioned how this transfer could be allowed under European football's governing body Uefa's Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
Remember, the £198m is only the initial outlay - PSG will also have to pay the Brazilian star that amount in wages over a five-year contract, as well as hefty fees to his father who is his agent and insurance premiums to protect their investment.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu had threatened to report PSG to Uefa for breaching FFP rules.
But Uefa does not have the power to block the deal. In a statement, it told the BBC: "We are not in a position to stop clubs from buying players, but the clubs will face sanctions if they fail to abide by Financial Fair Play rules."
Uefa introduced break-even FFP rules in 2013 to stop clubs accumulating too much debt and to prevent wealthy owners from injecting too much cash into their clubs.

Money up front

The rules state that over a three-year period a club like PSG, which is owned by the Gulf state of Qatar via its Oryx Qatar Sports Investments fund, can spend 30m euros more than it earns.
It is possible that PSG has accumulated lots of profits over the past two years to make it easier for them to make such a big outlay in the current year.
Uefa allows spending on things like stadiums, youth development and women's teams to be excluded from the calculations.
Barcelona was given the whole transfer fee up front, but that does not mean it has to all be accounted for in the current year.
"For FFP accounting purposes, the transfer fee will be divided over the length of the player's contract," says Daniel Geey, a sports lawyer at Sheridans.
"So if it's a five-year deal, that will count as around £40m of transfer spending per year."

But £40m a year plus wages is still a hefty outlay, so how might PSG balance the books?
There has been much talk of the club recouping the outlay by selling lots of Neymar shirts, but Mr Geey is not optimistic.
"It's a complete misnomer that clubs make a fortune from shirt sales increasing after big transfers," he says.
Kit deals tend to involve a big outlay up front with only limited profit-sharing of 10% to 15% after a certain number of shirts have been sold, he explains, so many millions of extra shirts would have to be sold to make serious inroads into the extra spending.
Of course, it may mean the club receives more money from Nike when it comes to renegotiate, but its current deal runs until 2022.

Prize money

PSG is presumably confident that such a high-profile player will help it to sign other commercial deals and there is no limit to the number of official products they could have.
We do not know what deal has been struck over Neymar's image rights, but if PSG can get a proportion of those it will help with meeting the FFP rules.
Then there is money to be earned on the pitch. PSG is already making a considerable amount of money in the Champions League - in the last five years it has reached the quarter-finals four times and been knocked out in the round of 16 once.
Last year, a team getting to the semi-final was paid an extra 7.5m euros (£6.7m), the losing finalists earned 11m euros (£9.9m) and the winner 15.5m euros (£14m). And that's just prize money, there are other pots of cash distributed to successful teams.
The club came second in the French league last year but had won the title for the previous four years so there is not much scope for extra prize money there.
They may argue that their huge acquisition will make French football more popular and lead to more lucrative television deals from around the world, but that would be a big impact for a single player, although it might help them sell expensive hospitality packages at their stadium the Parc des Princes.
Of course, PSG could always balance the books by selling a few of their existing players, but losing them would not help their Champions' League ambitions.
PSG fell foul of the FFP rules in 2014 when Uefa ruled that a £167m commercial contract with the Qatar Tourism Authority was unfairly generous - effectively, the governing body ruled that Qatar had been using the contract to bypass the FFP rules.
They were given a £20m fine, their spending was capped at £49m and they competed in the 2014-15 Champions League with 21 players in their squad instead of the usual 25.

Sex costs N100 in Bodija, the Ibadan Foodstuffs Market

Located conspicuously at the heart of Ibadan, capital city of Oyo State, Bodija market is a sight to behold - crowded and noisy. It is the delight of every wife, cooks and others who need to shop to save some money. Here, foodstuffs come cheapest in the city, and in Nigeria as some argue. Hence foodstuffs buyers happily troop there to bring back bulk food items ranging from rice garri, elubo, fish, meat, tuwo, lafun, vegetable and many others. In Bodija, while the food buyers have their good bargain, there are other attractions at the market. Services also abide in the domain of immorality. Bodija market wakes up as early as the Co*k crows, and never goes to sleep. This is not because trading lasts that long but a different transaction, heinous in nature, replaces buying and selling. Prostitution, pornographic film shows and petty robbery take over in Bodija when buyers and sellers of food items quit. Saturday Sun spent days observing what happens between 6pm and midnight and the discovery is simply incredible. From the Total Filling Station at the other side of the road into the market, following the railway line that runs down into the market, sex workers in different shapes, sizes and colours would call on male passers-by, asking and even begging for patronage. “Come it is sweet, come fine man, I will do you well, na just N100. E no cost, come , make we do am sharp sharp!”. Some of them would chorus, swinging their hips to entice buyers. Their ramshackle shelters stand facing the rail line. Some are built within the market. In most of the shelters, humble Hausa families also live as neigbhours to the sex workers. Amid the sex workers’ shelters is a mosque made of wood. As the sex worker or her patron ply the trade, they are harangued by the blaring of the public address system announcing prayers from this holy place. Another walk through the area offers you greater embarrassment. They hoot, call and even drag you: “Come now, na me call you first, you no no me again? Come, I go do you well, come and enjoy yourself.” If you are casually dressed, they call you student, otherwise, they call you oga or fine man.” To know more on how the sex workers carry out their business, Saturday Sun spoke to a few of them under the pretence of patronage. Cynthia, who hails from Delta State said for short time meaning a round of sex with her, she would accept as low as N100. “But if you want enjoy yourself well, well, touch br***t, smoosh body, you go make am N500.” We haggled and she brought it down to N300. Spending a night with Cynthia will take nothing less than N800. “That mean say, you go enjoy till day break”, she said patronizingly, blinking her amorous eyes. The other sex worker refused to give her name. She just revealed that she is from the North. She wanted business not friendship. “Na work I dey do, I no get time for friends now. I beg follow me talk business”, she snapped. The anonymous sex worker also accepted N100 for a quick one but advised that it would not be as interesting and enjoyable as a longer session that costs N500. “Na that one you go enjoy pass, I no say you fit pay am” said the unidentified sex worker. She got a bottle of beer as parting gift with a promise to see her later. Porn mart Take a long walk down to the side of the market near the butchers’ place. Here stands a wooden long hall. The interior smells heavily of alcohol, cigarette and marijuana. But for some bitter kola one chewed, the mixture of the strong stench would cause one to throw up. In front of this wooden hall are small pornographic posters mounted on flat wooden boards. The fee to watch a pornographic film that could last an hour is N30. Most of the people who patronize the cinema hall are traders, touts, and motorists in Bodija market and the neigbhourhood. Pornographic films are shown from 8pm till mid-night. Most of the porn watchers, from Saturday Sun checks, first go there to get excited and whet their appetite for a session with the sex worker near-by. “One hour for the cinema go wake you up so you go quick go do am with Ashawo,” Ibrahim, a mallam and regular patron of the cinema confessed. A man who said he is an Ibadan indigene explained that: “Most of us come here to unwind. Some of us who have two wives do come here to discharge when our wives are fighting and the home becomes too hot. Or if your girl friend refused to give you the thing and e de worry you, na here you release yourself.” Don’t the police attack them sometimes? Musa, another regular, speaking in pidgin English said “ The police dey come but the film man (cinema attendant) know them well, and him know how to settle them.” Taju, another trader in Bodija, has actually patronized the sex workers on several occasions. He spoke to Saturday Sun about his encounter: “I once had a session with a young girl who said she is from Edo. I like her so much I promised to marry her. After sometime she was no longer collecting money from me whenever I wanted to do it. The only thing was that she complained that the way I do it is painful. Meanwhile, I usually enjoy it that way because I take some dose of magani burantashi (traditional libido enhancer) which improves my performance. One night, Stella drove me out of her room shouting and cursing me for failing to marry her as promised. That was about three months into our relationship. Since then, I no longer go near her. I have shifted base. We still see each other but even when I try to avoid her she rained curses at me.” WONDER SHALL NEVER END.....

6 Things To Stay Away From If You Want To Look Younger

Age is something many of us have been obsessed with for years. When we were younger we wanted to look older, and as we got older we wanted ...
